Leaving on a Jet Plane

We received our travel appointment from China on Friday.  So, we booked our flight.  We are heading out on October 19th and flying into Shanghai where we will do a little touring for a few nights.  I’m sure we will also be struggling to adjust to the enormous time change for the first few days.  Then, on the 24th, we will fly into Beijing where we will meet up with the rest of our adoption group.  On the 28th, we fly into Nanchang and meet our baby girl, just one day after her 1st birthday!  After that, we head to Guangzhou for about a week for more paperwork.  Then, on the 10th of November we fly out of Beijing and head home.  We can’t wait!

Congratulations! There is NOTHING as excitingly wonderful as travel to meet your child. I’ve done it twice … our kids were born in Cambodia … and the memories of those trips populate the really happy places in my heart.

I envy everyone the experience, as I would so love to be doing it again.

You fly home on my son’s fifth birthday, and just typing that seems almost impossible that it’s been so long since we brought him home at the age of 13 weeks.

Have a fabulous trip, and take loads of notes and photos. All the excitement tends to turn moments into blurs.

I’m an Aunt Sandra, too, but to different kids.
